Any time you have had a cough, cold, Covid, or any respiratory infection, it can be challenging to return to practice because lying down can set off a coughing response, and the body can feel stiff and sore in general. This practice will gently stretch the body to bring a sense of ease. The supine restorative poses are done propped up on an incline to avoid setting off any coughing. You will feel more at ease in your body after this practice.
You will need a chair (ideally a folding chair, although any chair and a couple of sofa cushions will work), 1-2 blocks, 3-4 blankets (towels will work), an eye covering such as a hand towel, a bolster (you can roll blankets together to make a bolster, or use a firm sofa cushion), and a strap is optional.
