Education Director Kate Heffernan introduces restorative yoga through the lineage of Judith Hanson Lasater. Basic nervous system functions of the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system and their physiological markers are discussed. The elements needed in order to relax in a restorative practice are also covered. A well-rounded restorative sequence is taught and reactions to it are discussed as well as the benefits to adding restorative yoga into a weekly asana practice.
